Tropicalismo was a rupture movement that shook the environment of popular music and Brazilian culture between 1967 and 1968. Irreverent, Tropicália transformed the prevailing taste criteria, not only in terms of music and politics, but also in morals and behavior , body, sex and clothing.
The importance of tropicalism lay, above all, in its artistically innovative merit, developing new aesthetic standards. it was a revolutionary cultural movement that, although highly criticized in the period of its emergence, directly influenced and poetically inspired all Brazilian musical generations in the following decades.
“tropicalia“ is a representation of the organicity flows that followed tropicalia’s movement, an expermentations of the limits of the aesthetics present in concrete poetry and the limits of an aesthetical revolution that influenciated behavior and culture.
